Continued Violence Against Ethnic Minorities In Dublin

Yesterday evening saw reports that a man had been threatening and setting his dog on rough sleepers on Henry Street, Dublin, in a racially motivated attack. At least one man sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Speaking on the issue, a Dublin Lasair Dhearg spokesperson said, “This occurred mere metres away from where the vigil for Yves Sakila had been held very recently – a 35 year old Congolese man who was killed at the hands of private security employed by Synergy Security Solutions.”

“This security company who was contracted by Arnotts employs over 1,500 staff and had a turnover of €95 million in 2024. The firm has recently expanded their operations to Israel under the guidance of the company owners, Patricia Lawlor and Ken O’Reilly.”

“Not only do they work with terrorist organisations but they work closely with data centres and other tech infrastructure across Europe and North America.”

“The increase of racially and ethnically motivated violence across the Thirty Two Counties highlights the inadequacy of the safeguarding methods employed by the Free State and Stormont administrations. Along with all the day-to-day inhumane treatment of rough sleepers especially in Dublin, racially motivated attacks are yet another cause of anxiety for the people.”
