EU Pushing Ahead with Surveillance Plans

Lasair Dhearg rejects unreservedly the totalitarian surveillance measures currently being pushed through the EU legislative process, under the false pretext of the protection of children.

The controversial “Chat Control” proposal would legalise and mandate the scanning of all private digital communications, including encrypted messages and photos. In practice, this means mass-surveillance of all EU citizens by US tech companies, undertaken using spurious, environmentally damaging AI-technology.

The measure is set to be signed into law as part of the much-vaunted Irish “presidency” of the Council of the EU, clearly seen by the quisling regime in the 26 Counties as an opportunity to audition for senior roles within the European imperial bureaucracy post-retirement, having subjugated the people of Ireland in line with the strategic objectives of the increasingly militaristic, reactionary European project.

This move comes as part of a wider programme of anti-democratic reforms, de-regulation and provision of state contracts to and in the interests of US tech companies being adopted across western governments, against the wills of their own people.

Lasair Dhearg reiterates that the freedom and sovereignty of the Irish people can only be realised through a 32-County socialist republic, one that repudiates the influence and control of all imperialist regimes, including Britain, the US and the EU.
