“The Irish people are paying to die” says Pádraic MacCoitir as private healthcare profits to soar.

The response of Ireland’s both failed states to the covid-19 pandemic has been nothing less than shameful.

Bumper profits for private healthcare businesses are expected as both failed states in Ireland funnel public funds into private coffers.

And it’s not just coronavirus testing facilities like Randox Health who will profit either, as hundreds of millions of Pounds and Euros of your money are expected to be handed over to dozens of facilities nationwide.

Pádraic Mac Coitir, spokesperson for Lasair Dhearg, said that, “In the Six Counties, Stormont has contracted the use of a number of private hospitals for ‘not less than three months’. This includes the Ulster Independent Clinic, the Kingsbridge and the North West Independent Hospital. In the 26 Counties, a public-private agreement will see 19 private hospitals ‘leased’ for use as public ones by the state including the Beacon Hospital in Dublin, owned by none other than Denis O’Brien. His hospital posts yearly revenues in the hundreds of millions of Euros, and this is before the diversion of public money into his private hands.”

“How anyone thinks that profit within a system supposedly to be utilised for the public good is in some way a sustainable model for health care anywhere is unfathomable.”

“The coronavirus crisis has taken at least 300 lives in Ireland so far. The Irish people, through the failed leadership of our politicians in both failed states, are quite literally paying to die.”

“Every politician, every businessperson, any capitalist or profiteer that seeks to gain from the misery and plight of others, are nothing less than criminal if they prevent or avoid the nationalisation of all healthcare facilities and products for the well being of us all.”
