Leading experts and academics from across the world are scheduled to arrive in Belfast this week to launch a new research centre aimed at tackling “youth crime” and promoting early intervention to prevent “youth crime”.
One leading “Queens University” academic said that the Six Counties spends enormous amounts of money dealing with the consequences of violence but spends far less preventing the causes.
Many of the young people that find themselves caught up in violence do so as a result of the social conditions that they grow up in.
Currently one in three children in the Six Counties are living in poverty and there are currently over 50,000 families on the social housing waiting list. The children that all grew up after the Good Friday Agreement have understood no other language but the social violence that has been inflicted upon them by the Stormont regime enforcing these conditions on the people of the Six Counties on behalf of Westminster.
The young people that find themselves caught up in “youth crime” then find themselves victims of the British justice system and the PSNI. This is the same PSNI that forcibly strip search children and has forcibly stopped and searched the equivalent one fifth of the population of the Six Counties. This is whilst the age of “criminal responsibility” in the six counties is ten years old.
The only way to implement early prevention to stop “youth crime” is by the destruction of the capitalist system that produce the conditions for “crime” to be committed as a result of the violence which it implements on the people living under the system.
It is only through a 32 County Socialist Republic that we can give all the people the necessities for them to live and let them live in conditions that don’t result in social violence being placed upon them.
